Welcome to InstaStock. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you use our application and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

1. The Data We Collect About You

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

  • Identity Data includes first name, last name, business name, and role.
  • Contact Data includes email address.
  • Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, app version, time zone setting and location, and operating system platform.
  • Usage Data includes information about how you use our application and services (e.g., inventory counts, sales data, QR code generation).

2. How We Use Your Personal Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • To register you as a new user.
  • To manage our relationship with you, including notifying you about changes to our terms or privacy policy.
  • To deliver relevant application features to you (e.g., sending low stock alerts via email or WhatsApp).
  • To use data analytics to improve our application, products/services, marketing, customer relationships and experiences.

3. Disclosures of Your Personal Data

We may have to share your personal data with the parties set out below for the purposes set out in section 2 above.

  • Supabase – acts as our primary database and authentication provider.
  • RevenueCat – acts as our payment and subscription management infrastructure.
  • Twilio & Resend – acts as our communication providers for WhatsApp and Email alerts.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law.

4. Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. All database transactions are secured using Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure your business data is completely isolated.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon request, all of your identity data and inventory records will be permanently expunged from our servers.
